“Looking with your eyes”
1. Know different creative processes to apply them in the personal development of each participant.
2. Experience, through nature, the value of personal respect among the youth of Ventosa.
3. Use sculpture as a means of group integration.
4. Value the works of art that make up the artistic and cultural heritage of Ventosa.
5. Adapt and personalize an area of the municipality so that young people feel identified and integrated into the place, thus promoting their self-esteem.
1. Contemporary art as a reflection of our society. The Land Art.
2. Sculptural assembly techniques as a symbol of the construction of a more respectful and egalitarian society.
3. Assessment of the benefits of teamwork compared to individuals.
4. Analysis of the objects that surround us, contextualization and decontextualization.
5. Study of “the glasses” as a projection of personal empathy.
6. Creation of a final piece from the materials worked.
7. Conservation and restoration of works of art.
This activity was planned as a participatory workshop aimed at young people between the ages of 12 and 30 from the town and neighboring towns. We worked in a large group and in a small group and will require personal reflection to enrich the final result.
The central theme is about the different ways of seeing the same reality, from different cultural and social positions. For this, we use glasses as objects of reflection and as a plastic reference for our creation.
Three work sessions were held, on different days, in order to channel the different phases of the final work:
July 22 and 24 (coinciding with the celebration of Santiago) and September 3 (coinciding with the Virgen Blanca festivities).
– Talk presentation of the theme Land Art and the artist Andy Goldsworthy, or how to transform the landscape with the natural environment itself. Works of contemporary art in our environment.
– Creation of working groups by age and explanation of techniques and materials: assembly with ropes-knots; nails and hammers; rasps, files and sandpaper; brush and spray varnished.
– Proposal to do practices at home.
– Search proposal for artists and works of Land Art.
– Proposal for individual recognition of the terrain: branches, stones, etc.…
– Collection and classification of material.
– Planning the work to be done by teams.
– Creation of the work.
– Theoretical-practical workshop on conservation and restoration of cultural assets. The restoration of the image of the White Virgin on ceramic tiles and the works of contemporary art that are already part of the municipality will be taken as an example. Drawing practices will be carried out.
